Finally a decent browser for your Mobile Phone: Opera Mini
I am an avid mobile phone user, however I don’t yet have the joy of owning an iPhone as they haven’t been released yet in Australia (and I can’t be bothered imported a cracked one from the US). So i’ve been putting up with the usable, however limited, built-in browser on my Sony Ericsson.
Enter Opera Mini – a fully functioning version of the Opera Browser for your mobile phone. It will render almost ANY web page and deliver it in a compressed format to your mobile, allowing you to effectively browse all sites on the web, without downloading the entire content of the page. Suddenly you have access to the entire web on your phone, and best of all the browser is free!
Opera Mini works by redirecting sites through proxy servers hosted by Opera. These compress the images and restructure the page so that it will display more effectively on your mobile phone. As a result they reduce the total size of the content, making browsing a much faster process over your 3G connection.
I am seriously impressed with Opera Mini. I thoroughly recommend it – at least until you can get yourself an iPhone
