I recently purchased a new Mac and have been progressively setting it up with all my favorite Mac applications.  Google Notifier for Mac is one of these, which monitors my Gmail account and lets me know when I have mail.

Unfortunately, on my new Mac I have not been able to Sign-In to my Google Account for Google Apps.  I consistent received the message ‘Sign-in Failed‘.  Until now -  I just got this working by doing the following:

  1. Enter the username and password for a normal Gmail account (e.g. blah@gmail.com)
  2. This should sign-in… (if it doesn’t, i probably can’t help)
  3. Once signed-in, click Preferences on the Google Notifier menu
  4. Change your Google Account details and sign-in to your Google Apps Google Account
  5. You should now be logged in to your Google Account in Google Notifier!

Not sure why that works, but it did for me!  Hope it helps someone.
