I came accross an Adium plugin today that allows me to show my Skype contacts in my Adium contact list.  Hooray!  You still have to be running Skype, but it saves you a bit of real estate on your desktop as you only need one contacts list open.

The plugin also works for Pidgin/libpurple so is truely cross-platform.  Head over here to check it out.
