WWDC 2009 Update: Keynote Summary for iPhone

WWDC: Today’s keynote included many things we already knew about the iPhone, and few things we didn’t. Here’s a quick summary from the team at WSP Online – on site at the Keynote in Moscone Center, San Francisco CA.
New announcements include:
New Device – iPhone 3G S – 2x faster iPhone with new hardware features including:
- 3-mega pixel camera
- “Touch” focus technology – touch a part of the screen to auto focus
- Auto focus
- Auto white balance
- Auto low light adjustment
- Auto macro support (10cm distance)
- Built-in compass support
- Compass app showing your bearing from true north, magnetic north
- Maps app support – double tab location to rotate map and show relative to your currently location
- Video Recording Support
- Video editing – easily slice up recorded video with preview of timeline
- Video sharing – one touch sharing via MMS/YouTube/Email/MobileMe
- Voice support
- Depress home button for 1 second from any app to activate
- Voice dial contacts from address book
- Voice activate songs from artists/playlists
- Nike+ Support
- Faster processsor – at least 2x faster than previous iPhone 3G
- $199 for iPhone 3G S
- $99 for iPhone 3G (US Pricing)
- On Sale June 19

- iPhone 3.0 software released to general public 15th June, 2009
- WWDC Developers given access today (8th June, 2009)
